boo!

boo!
So this Halloween card is being entered into 2 challenges:

  1. Paper Play - "Use Black"
  2. Papertake Weekly - "Spooky Hues"

So I've used my new Gorjuss Girl stamp and coloured her in using promarkers in the halloween colours of purple, black, orange and a little grey.

The "boo!" has been cut out using an alphabet die. Can't remember the name of the die off the top of my head tho lol.

I'm also kind of loving these scallop cards at the moment too! they are really effective tho and the size is just perfect! :)

This HAD to be posted.....

I don't blow my own trumpet very much or even at all, but I'm so pleased with this card. It had to be shared to you guys......

Miss Anya - Screen Card
The idea came to me the other night when I was watching tv. I wasn't motivated enough to actually make a card, so thought I would colour some images instead. Half the job done once your images are coloured! I coloured the middle one in first in all fairness, then decided to colour the other 2 girls in the same colour.

How was I going to get 3 girls on the same card??

* Light Bulb! * (said in the style of Mr.Gru - Despicable Me)

I wanted to make a screen card and that's exactly what I did! I am actually stunned at the outcome! I was going to put it in a long DL box but thought better of it. So it's in an A4 box, which I think suits better as you get to see the whole of the card. I have left it blank as I'm unsure of what sentiment to put on it, but least it can be personalised this way :)

Screen Card - Boxed

That's me done for this post! Think I will be making a few more of these lol

Crafts & Me Challenge - Blue, Green & Pink

Frosted Rose
Well not necessarily a colour combo I would use, but I played along with the Crafts and Me Challenge anyways....

I must admit tho, I do LOVE this image of "Frosted Rose". She is soooo versatile. I don't think it's possible to ever get fed up of this image, although after looking at the website, I think I will be purchasing more! Such stunning images.

Now, onto the card  it's self then.......

As I said, never really used this colour combo before but really pleased with the outcome. The swirl is a die-cut which I have cut out of the pink spotty paper. The tea roses are absolutely gorgeous! With their pink centers they really set the white off. The leaves are punched out of the matching green card.

The image is coloured using promarkers, colours used were apple, china blue & cocktail pink along with terrocota (hair), satin, blush & dusky pink for the skin.

Love the Scallop cards as well. You can create such wonderful cards with them. Will definately be purchasing more!

Only 2 weeks till the Hobbycraft Show at the NEC........ eeeek! I'm gonna be skint!!!

Well, thanks for reading the rambling! Much appreciated. Would love to know your thoughts :)

Christmas Candle

Before
Altered a candle today, was hard work I will tell you! Well, not so much the candle but the tube was.... tip: Buy a tube rather than trying to make one! ha!

So the pic to the left is the before picture, bog standard black candle. Funnily enough I think i'm going through a black & white phase with christmas cards, so thought would carry the theme on :)

Candle, tube & top
A cheeky lil photo of the candle, tube and top.

The top is made out of card, but I tell you, a nightmare to make! Made the shapes using my nesties tho. Used the 3rd biggest circle so that I had a kind of "lip" for the acetate tube to sit up against. Then used the largest scallop to make the actual base/top. Stuck the circle to the underside of the scallop and cut upto the circle at 2 scallop intervals. Added sticky tape and pushed up onto the actual tube. It does stick but I added curling ribbon just to reinforce it.
For the tube I used acetate and dst to stick it together. I should have added the eyelets before I put the tube together!

Candle
So the candle itself then. Was completely black but I decided to add some glittery bits. The candle was completely covered with tissue paper with glittery swirls on it. Heat it up and away you go! Although I always manage to get it not smooth, but hey ho, cuz you can't see it anyways!

Added the ribbon and the sentiment. the sentiment is a stamp by Penny Black, "Christmas isn't under a tree, Christmas is in your heart."
Stuck the sentiment and added a ribbon bow and pins. The bow has writting on it which says "happy christmas" in silver writing. And the pins I cheated with! I only had pearl ones left and wanted to add another colour, tip: colour them with pro-markers! Works wonders! The pins are literally stuck into the foam pad behind the sentiment. Added a few gems along the bottom of the sentiment and along the ribbon to finish off. Also added a white ribbon bow to the top as well.

So the end result in the tube is this:

Candle in tube
A real long post from me, I'm now going for a lie down! ha!

Thanks for popping by. hope you enjoyed the read :)

Papertake Weekly....

So this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge is :

"As this is the first challenge of the month we have our usual
Anything Goes theme
with the option of adding something punched"

After making a card for the the Cupcake Craft Challenge which is "Black & White Christmas", I was making another christmas card so used the same theme and came up with this:

Girlfriend Christmas Card
Didn't think Black & White would go for a christmas card but it does perfectly. And this stamp isn't even a christmas stamp! It's a Penny Black Stamp but to make it more christmasy, I glued n glittered up the dress and shoes. I really like it tbf! Ha!

The extra for this challenge "something punched" and as you can see, i've used punched snowflakes with silver gems in the middle. Here's a close up of the image:

Black & White Christmas

Been a while again since I last joined in a challenge (Again!) But as I was making Christmas Cards I thought I may as well join in with the Cupcake Craft Challenge. And a good challenge it is as well!

Had just been upto the craft shop and picked up some stunning vellum with a flourish and holly on it in white glitter. I brought 2 sheets, at £1 a sheet tho! :-/ Instantly, had the light bulb go off in my head for an idea.

Black & White Christmas
Only thing I struggled with........ how the hell to you stick vellum to a black background??!! (any tips would be much appreciated!) I have vellum glue but it shows up still... hence the gems! Stuck the gems on, then put little bits of glue under the gems to stick it down.

The sentiment is a Penny Black Stamp, which has been heat embossed as well. Unfortunately though, I couldn't find my white glitter embossing powder. Used silver glitter instead.

I do love a simple, elegant card tho!

Thanks for popping by to take a look.
