Footy Nut

Haven't posted for a while... again! Why oh why is christmas ALWAYS so hectic?! Maybe I should be more organised? I did get rather fed up in the end of making Christmas cards... plus my mojo did completely disappear :(

But never mind... because it's back! With Celtic winning the Old Firm derby last night, it inspired me to make my "footy nut" card. Brought a really cute Tilda last week, coloured and cut her out but she had nothing to sit on until today when my wall stamp arrived! :D

Unfortunately, I had already coloured her in in red & white :( much to my disappointment! Could have re-coloured her in green & white (celtic colours) or Claret & Blue (Aston Villa colours) but I thought I would use her anyways... so the end result is this...

Footy Nut
No doubt I will make a load of these now! lol My burgandy pro marker came today too! It's as near as damn it to claret ;) haha so it will do! need to find more football backing paper actually too... here's a close up of Tilda on the wall....

Going to enter this into the following challenge: Simon Says Stamp! - Theme: Anything Goes First time joining in with this one too! I was blog hopping, well being nosey on Mandy's blog! (Check it out, Mandy's blog and creations are AWESOME!) and saw that Mandy is indeed a DT member on there too... Hope to join in a lot more from now on tho...

WOW! what a long post! I'm done now, thanks for popping by and having a read :) toodles! x

I’m Dreaming Of A Claret & Blue Christmas....

So this week, the Papertake Weekly theme is:
"I’m Dreaming Of A  (your fave colour) Christmas.
So all you need to do here is to make a Christmas card or project in YOUR fave  colour theme …. and that’s it!!!"

Well, with my fave colours being that of my fave team, Aston Villa, I wanted to make a card in these colours. One of my orders was for "Baby's 1st Christmas" how fitting that they too are Villa fans!

Humphrey and reindeer
Used Humphrey pulling his reindeer along. The image itself is coloured using promarkers apart for the coat which is stamped onto the snowflake paper, cut and stuck down :)
A simple layout but effective none the less.

Christmas Cards with a difference....

Every year I get asked to make Christmas Cards in the theme of the kids favourite football teams.... and every year I get stuck! But not this year! One Aston Villa (COME ON!) and one Liverpool...

Football Cards
Used the Holte End with the Lion covered in snow for the Aston Villa card and the top of one of the gates at Anfield for the Liverpool card. Pretty pleased with them both to be honest :)

Crafts & Me Challenge - Pearls & Swirls

Well, I think i've been quite clever for this challenge! :)

So the card is being entered into the :

Crafts & Me Challenge of "Pearls & Swirls"

I have used pearls & swirls but...... the card I have used is "pearl"-ised! ;)

The image is a digi image and it is such a versatile image to use. This, as you can see is for my mate's 21st off us girls from work :)

Christening Presents & Cards

So, I went shopping for a Christening present, and what did I find.......... diddly squat!!

So after much deliberation, I made my own! and here the both are...

Maisey's Candle, Picture Frame & Card

Ellie's Candle, Picrure Frame & Card

Instead of making them in the same colour, I have done them different.
I've used the same image which is from Lili of the Valley apart from on Ellie's picture frame. The images have been coloured with promarkers, this also applies for the candle. Use thicker tissue paper tho when making a candle. The colours stick/show up a lot better :)

PaperPlay Challenge.... Shaped Card

This is my entry into PaperPlay's challenge this week:

"Shaped Card"

So I've made a Stepper Card using Miss Anya stamps from The Greeting Farm. I took inspiration from a colour challenge blog, but the pink I had wasn't quite right so I didn't enter into the challenge, but saying that, I do like the colours together. Added a bit of ribbon and some gems too, but haven't added a greeting yet as it can then be personalised.

Close-Up of girls

Magnolia Christmas Card for the Hairdressers...

Bit hard making a christmas card for a hairdressers when then is loads of them! "/ but had a light bulb idea....

Hunting for my Magnolia Stamps at 11pm was not fun! but I found them anyway and came up with this card :)

Wanted to keep the card quite clean and simple with keeping to using one colour plus white, well, it's more than one colour! haha..... It is kind of girly but boyish at the same time.

Here's a close-up view of Tilda & Edwin...

Papertake Weekly.... "First Christmas"

This weeks challenge on Papertake Weekly is:

"First Christmas."

"It’s our  first Christmas challenge of the year here at Papertake so it’s self explanatory really. You can make a Christmas card or you can make a First Christmas card – tis up to you and either will be fine."

To follow on the theme of "First" I have made a christmas card but I have made it with my new Lili of the Valley Stamp "Moonlight Wishes", so it's a "first christmas" card using this image... and I must say.... I love it!

"Moonlight Wishes"

The window is acetate which has been stitched on using my New Sewing Machine (first time of using it) with gems, snowflakes, flowers and swirls added. The pink paper that is on the inside of the card is actually pearlised too. (it was a baragin!) The snowflakes are a die cut and have been cut out of white glitter card.

Here's a few more pictures of the details:

Details on card

Passion for promarkers - "Kraft +1 other colour"

Distressed Whiff of Joy

So ProMarkers challenge is : "Kraft +1 other colour"

I did actually make this card a few days ago to be put onto my website. As you will notice, there is no greeting on this card as it can then be personalised. Also the cirlce is blank to add an age if needed.

The card stock used was coredinations. I must admit.... I do LOVE this card, rich colours yet you can distress it too. And scallop edge cards are just fab! This one is 8x8.

Added a few eyelets and stars for extra details.

Coloured the Guy in using ProMarkers; Shirt - Sandstone; Bottoms - China Blue; Hair - Terrecotta; Skin - Satin, Blush & Dusky Pink.

Kenny K & Cupcake....

8x8 Scallop Edge Card
So went to the NEC yesterday for the Hobbycraft show. There was some good stash out there and some bargains.... only stayed for a few hours though as it was getting too busy.

What I did manage to get was this lovely paper! 12x12 scrapbook paper - 25 sheets for £5... bargain! and just the ticket for a challenge for this week.

This card is being entered into 2 challenges :

1. Kenny K's Krafty Girlz - "Celebration Time"
2. Cupcake Craft - "Textalicious"

Close up of flowers and spray
Paper works perfectly for the Cupcake Challenge! They are different papers even tho they do have text on them. The black paper has been mounted onto kraft card with the orange paper being mounted onto black and kraft card. I used my new sewing machine too to add some more detail.

The Kenny K image is called : "Lady Victoria".
Tried to use the same colour scheme as the card on the image. I did have to add a bit of ivory though to make it a bit lighter.

Added detail with flowers, leaves and spray in the bottom corner.

01/11/2011

Soooo love this image....

Downloaded this image last night, soon as it had downloaded.. it was printed and coloured in! I must say though, the Kenny K images are so versatile!

You will notice that there is no greeting on this card as I have made it so it can be personalised for either a lad or a lass.

The image used is called "Vikki Lee Vicious" and the paper is by Bo Bunny.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

  1. Papertake Weekly - "Anything Goes (Plus A Bit Of Bling If You Want"
  2. Kenny K's Krafty Girlz - "Glitter and Bling"
The glitter/bling is on the lime green bits of her corest and on the green bit of the guitar. Oh and the 2 gems on the little flaps in the top right corner.....

Heres's a close up of the image so you can see the glitter ...

24/10/2011

boo!

boo!
So this Halloween card is being entered into 2 challenges:

  1. Paper Play - "Use Black"
  2. Papertake Weekly - "Spooky Hues"

So I've used my new Gorjuss Girl stamp and coloured her in using promarkers in the halloween colours of purple, black, orange and a little grey.

The "boo!" has been cut out using an alphabet die. Can't remember the name of the die off the top of my head tho lol.

I'm also kind of loving these scallop cards at the moment too! they are really effective tho and the size is just perfect! :)

This HAD to be posted.....

I don't blow my own trumpet very much or even at all, but I'm so pleased with this card. It had to be shared to you guys......

Miss Anya - Screen Card
The idea came to me the other night when I was watching tv. I wasn't motivated enough to actually make a card, so thought I would colour some images instead. Half the job done once your images are coloured! I coloured the middle one in first in all fairness, then decided to colour the other 2 girls in the same colour.

How was I going to get 3 girls on the same card??

* Light Bulb! * (said in the style of Mr.Gru - Despicable Me)

I wanted to make a screen card and that's exactly what I did! I am actually stunned at the outcome! I was going to put it in a long DL box but thought better of it. So it's in an A4 box, which I think suits better as you get to see the whole of the card. I have left it blank as I'm unsure of what sentiment to put on it, but least it can be personalised this way :)

Screen Card - Boxed

That's me done for this post! Think I will be making a few more of these lol

Crafts & Me Challenge - Blue, Green & Pink

Frosted Rose
Well not necessarily a colour combo I would use, but I played along with the Crafts and Me Challenge anyways....

I must admit tho, I do LOVE this image of "Frosted Rose". She is soooo versatile. I don't think it's possible to ever get fed up of this image, although after looking at the website, I think I will be purchasing more! Such stunning images.

Now, onto the card  it's self then.......

As I said, never really used this colour combo before but really pleased with the outcome. The swirl is a die-cut which I have cut out of the pink spotty paper. The tea roses are absolutely gorgeous! With their pink centers they really set the white off. The leaves are punched out of the matching green card.

Close up of Frosted Rose
The image is coloured using promarkers, colours used were apple, china blue & cocktail pink along with terrocota (hair), satin, blush & dusky pink for the skin.

Love the Scallop cards as well. You can create such wonderful cards with them. Will definately be purchasing more!

Only 2 weeks till the Hobbycraft Show at the NEC........ eeeek! I'm gonna be skint!!!

Well, thanks for reading the rambling! Much appreciated. Would love to know your thoughts :)

Christmas Candle

Before
Altered a candle today, was hard work I will tell you! Well, not so much the candle but the tube was.... tip: Buy a tube rather than trying to make one! ha!

So the pic to the left is the before picture, bog standard black candle. Funnily enough I think i'm going through a black & white phase with christmas cards, so thought would carry the theme on :)

Candle, tube & top
A cheeky lil photo of the candle, tube and top.

The top is made out of card, but I tell you, a nightmare to make! Made the shapes using my nesties tho. Used the 3rd biggest circle so that I had a kind of "lip" for the acetate tube to sit up against. Then used the largest scallop to make the actual base/top. Stuck the circle to the underside of the scallop and cut upto the circle at 2 scallop intervals. Added sticky tape and pushed up onto the actual tube. It does stick but I added curling ribbon just to reinforce it.
For the tube I used acetate and dst to stick it together. I should have added the eyelets before I put the tube together!

Candle
So the candle itself then. Was completely black but I decided to add some glittery bits. The candle was completely covered with tissue paper with glittery swirls on it. Heat it up and away you go! Although I always manage to get it not smooth, but hey ho, cuz you can't see it anyways!

Added the ribbon and the sentiment. the sentiment is a stamp by Penny Black, "Christmas isn't under a tree, Christmas is in your heart."
Stuck the sentiment and added a ribbon bow and pins. The bow has writting on it which says "happy christmas" in silver writing. And the pins I cheated with! I only had pearl ones left and wanted to add another colour, tip: colour them with pro-markers! Works wonders! The pins are literally stuck into the foam pad behind the sentiment. Added a few gems along the bottom of the sentiment and along the ribbon to finish off. Also added a white ribbon bow to the top as well.

So the end result in the tube is this:

Candle in tube
A real long post from me, I'm now going for a lie down! ha!

Thanks for popping by. hope you enjoyed the read :)

Papertake Weekly....

So this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge is :

"As this is the first challenge of the month we have our usual
Anything Goes theme
with the option of adding something punched"

After making a card for the the Cupcake Craft Challenge which is "Black & White Christmas", I was making another christmas card so used the same theme and came up with this:

Girlfriend Christmas Card
Didn't think Black & White would go for a christmas card but it does perfectly. And this stamp isn't even a christmas stamp! It's a Penny Black Stamp but to make it more christmasy, I glued n glittered up the dress and shoes. I really like it tbf! Ha!

The extra for this challenge "something punched" and as you can see, i've used punched snowflakes with silver gems in the middle. Here's a close up of the image:

Black & White Christmas

Been a while again since I last joined in a challenge (Again!) But as I was making Christmas Cards I thought I may as well join in with the Cupcake Craft Challenge. And a good challenge it is as well!

Had just been upto the craft shop and picked up some stunning vellum with a flourish and holly on it in white glitter. I brought 2 sheets, at £1 a sheet tho! :-/ Instantly, had the light bulb go off in my head for an idea.

Black & White Christmas
Only thing I struggled with........ how the hell to you stick vellum to a black background??!! (any tips would be much appreciated!) I have vellum glue but it shows up still... hence the gems! Stuck the gems on, then put little bits of glue under the gems to stick it down.

The sentiment is a Penny Black Stamp, which has been heat embossed as well. Unfortunately though, I couldn't find my white glitter embossing powder. Used silver glitter instead.

I do love a simple, elegant card tho!

Thanks for popping by to take a look.

Aston Villa Boots...

Close up of AVFC booties
Haven't updated the blog for a while, but HAD to share these with you all!

How cute are these?!

Was made as part of an order for christening and birthday. (Birthday card to follow) Now, I've made quite a few of these but never had the opportunity to make them with a football team theme. I have the say, i'm pretty pleased with the outcome.....

Ideally, I should have put the gold peel-offs on before I stuck them all together but they still look super cute!
I even put little AVFC badges on the box too. The back of the box is personalised as well, with baby's name and date of christening.

A Villa Card

Lucky me yesterday....... got to see the boys in Claret & Blue play and got to make a Villa card. I do love to make my footy cards!

So was for my mate's fella who turned 30 last week. Was a very quick card but turned out good to be honest. I'm sure it will stay up on the shelf much to the disgust of my mate! hahaha

Challenge 78 - Kraft, Red and White/Cream

Inspirational picture
Great combination of colours for this Colour Create Challenge even more so as I never know what to do with the "Kraft" element.

Had a light bulb moment again! Took the layout from another card I had recently made, altho I like it that much I may have to make a few more in different colours... would be good for a set of 4 cards :)
So onto the card I made..... I didn't actually use any card candi this time round (shock horror!) I used pearls instead tho. First time of using my Gorjuss Girl "Untamed" stamp as well and my new nesties :) Let me know what you think!

Really enjoyed playing along with this challenge.... Here's my card...

Cupcake Craft Challenge

Cupcake Craft Challenge by Faye
Its been a while since I joined in a challenge, always look but never enough hours in the day and all that jazz.... but last night I needed to do a card and quick!!!.... the sketch was perfect as its simple! (tip: great for a quick card!) So the Cupcake Craft sketch is as follows....

So the reason for the quick card.... Was on holiday last week, came back and remembered it was my mate's birthday! oops! i'm such a rubbish friend..... I know! She will be proud of me anyways..... its got PINK on it! i hate pink with a passion, give me claret any day ;) hahaha

So then, onto the card itself.... the image is by Whiff of Joy "Just a bit of Magic Witch" first time I've used it tbh but it's cool all the same. For quickness I used glitter card and added some card candi. So here as follows is the card.....

"Just a bit of Magic Witch"

West Bromwich Albion Card.....

I do LOVE to make my footy cards, but this one did me HEAD IN!!!

It's A4 in size, wanted to do something a bit different as it's for a 50th Birthday. Tried everything and nothing looked right. Then had a light bulb moment!

*PING*

Cut out a 'window' and put the badge in here. It's called an appeture I think?! (don't quote me on that tho!)

I thought it looked a little plain in all fariness, but everyone said it looked fine and my mate came to pick it up and loved it! Wahay! :)

I said "tell Chris I said "Happy Birthday" for tomorrow and Up The Villa!" hahaha

cool art card n a kenny k...

So a cool art car then? A bit of a concoction but nevertheless a well turned out card :)

Card is for an 18th birthday (yes I'm stating the obvious!) But with a different theme for a lass. She is having a Citroën C2 in blue for her birthday so the order was for this to go onto the card. At first I thought use a pic of the car that's more like a photo but then after looking, the card would have been too tomboyish :-/ flicked through my images I have n found the kenny k girl image..... bingo! *insert light bulb idea for a cool art car*

Next thing..... found an image of the car but it was too small. Que my lovely little brother! ;) made it bigger, put her name on the number plate and even put a flash in the lights so it looks like the are on. Thanks Andy :)

The card had to be put in a box due to the size so why not put an acetate window in it??

Finishing touches ;)

nappy cake...

So, I'd already brought my mate her Moses basket but wanted to give her something more for baby. I have never made a nappy cake before tbh but I had a go anyways :)

All the baby stuff is all Johnsons baby along with pampers nappies and baby wipes. Also got a 'humpries the elephant' microwave plate and some socks. Of course I had to put some avfc stuff in there!! Haha I do actually have a baby suit as well but will keep that for later on :)

Hope she likes it...... she's a bluenose!!! Haha

going a bit off topic..... all things AVFC

Well then, how good was it to be back watching the boys in Claret & Blue?! Didn't realise I missed football THAT much!!

Me and Mom sat behind the goal to the left. Such a good view (especially of Shay Given!) Was sruurounded by a few undesireables but they made the atmosphere to be fair. I'm sure the guy in front of me did not stop chanting through the whole game!! Haha

For a small stadium, Walsall is a great atmosphere. It's a one tier stadium apart form the Floors-To-Go stand which is two tiers. All the AVFC fans were in good spirits. We took up two stands and a block but could easily have filled more! Attendance was 7,000 (a bit different to Villa Park!) We were far superior with support for our team tho.

Given was a sure fire hit with the fans. Got an outstanding applaud from us lot with us chanting "GIVEN!! GIVEN!!" But the guy is gorgeous!! It pains me to say this but Stephen Ireland was looking sharp last night!! Seemed to have the right attitude as well. And we welcomed back the one and only Stephen Warnock!! I actually LOVE this guy!! We were all chanting at him also. Love it when the players recognise the fans and applaud us :)

Got a few new chants to learn.... caught hold of a few. One was superb and will be muchly used when Downing returns to Villa Park with Liverpool! Looking forward to that!

I've read somewhere this morning in the papers today, that us fans are being criticised for not accepting Alex McLeish as our new manager... this is complete crap! Granted there were no "McLeish's Claret and BLue Army!" chants but still there was nothing negative about the football being played.... (we will leave out the 2 sitters The Fonz missed!)

We were there to see our Claret and Blue Boys Play... and we did just that!
'villa till I die cuz I'm villa till I die!'

a candle for a teacher...

So my cousin asked me to decorate a candle for her daughter's teacher, not so much of an ask but damn that bloody printer!! Had to print the greeting onto tissue paper, so in order to do that i had to stick the tissue paper to card. After a LOT of effort and 4 sheets later, I finally got an end result :D I didn't think the Tatty Ted would show up as well on the blue candle it has shown up quite well :)

finally some VILLA cards....

Well, well, well...... finally I get to make 2 VILLA cards!! Wooohoooo!! Don't get me wrong, love making my footy cards but they have all been teams I don't support :( but finally someone order 2 VILLA cards :D

Bit of a weird order tho, a4 card is crest n back of shirt with no.6 n Dave... a good number to choose as it is Mr. Downing's number ;) and 2nd card was a picture if Villa Park with crest.

I'm happy with the cards tho, turned out well.

Up the VILLA!!

Great sketch again this week! Will be using this again. So I won last week and only noticed because I went over to check out the new sketch haha... so then onto this weeks card....

Made for my auntie's birthday. She loves witches! So hence the image. It's a stamp which is illustrated by Kerry Jo :) has been coloured in using pro markers. I am loving spotty paper at the mo (as you can tell!) I think I have it in every colour lol. My auntie's gab colour is also purple so had to use it! :)

So without further ado... here us my card.....

a less is more card....

Had an order for a 30th wedding anniversary. Now, I know the colour for this anniversary is pearl but.... have you ever tried to find pearl card?! Let me tell you, near as damn it impossible! So that's why it's a white card with a pearlised finish to it.

I made a card similar to this before, but it was a square card. Anyhow, it turned out better than what I originally thought. Hopefully it should be okay!
