Green with Snowflakes

Afternoon peeps!

Whilst my internet is deciding to play along, I thought I'd write this post up.

I don't know about you, but when I started doing this card I thought "Why did I offer to do this?!" I had a complete mind blank, specially with it being for a mate's mom which is off him!! Eeeeek! After much deliberation, I finally have something that I'm happy with....

Full Card
Originally, I wanted to do the card white with white glitter but you might know that the glittered snowflake vellum wouldn't show up! Grrr... I thought about the other usual christmas colours but I wasn't happy with any of them. Then I came across this green mirror card. Sorted. Finally I could use the vellum that's benn sat in my drawer for over a year! I've stitched the vellum to the green as to not have any glue marks. The ribbon is also stitched to the card with the bow being attatched by a brad. Got to add a little bit of bling. The snowflakes and flowers are die cuts with the leaves being punched out of the green card, white card and vellum. A couple of hat pins and some gems and finished.

Here's a few more pics...

Flowers & Leaves

Snowflakes
I think really that the snowflake should have been bang in the corner but beggars can't be choosers!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

1. Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
2. Oldie but a Goodie - Ribbon and/or Lace
3. Creative Craft - Non-traditional Christmas Colours

Thanks for popping by!

Baby's 1st Birthday

Had an order for a Baby's 1st Birthday to do in a Aston Villa themed card... well, being a 1st birthday I didn't want to do an Aston Villa card as I thought it would be too old. So used the colours instead..

That's actually a pretty bad picture.. Here's another one but maybe that's a bit too dark! hahaha

Going to enter this into the Lili's Little Fairies - Oh Boy

It's a bit late but better to be late then never! LOL

Penny Black Challenge - Anything Goes

This is the first time in ages that I am joining in with the Penny Black Challenge Blog... I really fell out of love with my Penny Black stamps.. But suddenly had a "light bulb" moment. With my God-Mother's Birthday coming up, I wondered what I could use and remembered i had the stamp "Constellations" so off I went to rummage...

The layout is based ona sketch from another blog. I slightly adapted it and this is the card I created....

Colour scheme is gold, navy & kraft. The edging of each layer (if you please) has been stitched as well. The ribbon, you can just make out, has a tiny strip of gold on it so ties in beautifully.

The image itself has been stamped but I've added colour using some promakers. Usually I keep the image clean or add pearls, but I think using colour works just as well. Added some big corner peel-offs to add more detail.

Thanks for popping by :)

Very pleased today :)

Why do all your ideas usually come to you just before you go to bed?! Honestly!

This happened to me last night, but I did end up making this card anyways and I must say, I'm really pleased with the outcome :) So without further a do... here is my card :

I am entering my card into the following blog challenges..

Simon Says Stamp Challenge was to use "spots and/or stripes" I couldn't find any stripes that was the right colour so stayed with the spots. Had much fun stitching the card as well! The cotton kept breaking much to my enjoyment LOL! The sketch is fab! Infact, I've just used it to make another card as well.

Here's a few close ups of the detail..

Close up of details and butterflies.

For the glittery twizzly things, check out Mandy's blog. She has a tutorial on the blog :) Really effective but really messy when making them, well I made a mess anyways lol.

Butterflies have been punched out in the co-ordinating cream card. The bodies have been coloured in using pro markers, the same as the image. It was hard colouring on the cream card tho. The card seemed to soak up the pens. But it turned out okay still.

Thanks very much for popping by :)

Magnolia Christmas Card for the Hairdressers...

Bit hard making a christmas card for a hairdressers when then is loads of them! "/ but had a light bulb idea....

Hunting for my Magnolia Stamps at 11pm was not fun! but I found them anyway and came up with this card :)

Wanted to keep the card quite clean and simple with keeping to using one colour plus white, well, it's more than one colour! haha..... It is kind of girly but boyish at the same time.

Here's a close-up view of Tilda & Edwin...

Papertake Weekly.... "First Christmas"

This weeks challenge on Papertake Weekly is:

"First Christmas."

"It’s our  first Christmas challenge of the year here at Papertake so it’s self explanatory really. You can make a Christmas card or you can make a First Christmas card – tis up to you and either will be fine."

To follow on the theme of "First" I have made a christmas card but I have made it with my new Lili of the Valley Stamp "Moonlight Wishes", so it's a "first christmas" card using this image... and I must say.... I love it!

"Moonlight Wishes"

The window is acetate which has been stitched on using my New Sewing Machine (first time of using it) with gems, snowflakes, flowers and swirls added. The pink paper that is on the inside of the card is actually pearlised too. (it was a baragin!) The snowflakes are a die cut and have been cut out of white glitter card.

Here's a few more pictures of the details:

Kenny K & Cupcake....

8x8 Scallop Edge Card
So went to the NEC yesterday for the Hobbycraft show. There was some good stash out there and some bargains.... only stayed for a few hours though as it was getting too busy.

What I did manage to get was this lovely paper! 12x12 scrapbook paper - 25 sheets for £5... bargain! and just the ticket for a challenge for this week.

This card is being entered into 2 challenges :

1. Kenny K's Krafty Girlz - "Celebration Time"
2. Cupcake Craft - "Textalicious"

Close up of flowers and spray
Paper works perfectly for the Cupcake Challenge! They are different papers even tho they do have text on them. The black paper has been mounted onto kraft card with the orange paper being mounted onto black and kraft card. I used my new sewing machine too to add some more detail.

The Kenny K image is called : "Lady Victoria".
Tried to use the same colour scheme as the card on the image. I did have to add a bit of ivory though to make it a bit lighter.

Added detail with flowers, leaves and spray in the bottom corner.

Something New

Good Morning..  Hope you all had a great christmas & fab new year too.  We are finally back with a new challenge over at My Time ...
